about the healthy hippy

hi, I'm fliss and I am the healthy hippy.

I'm a mum of three young boys, trying to do my best to fuel them well and keep them healthy with wholefoods, organics, and healthy living. I guess you could say I've always been into health and wellness, although admittedly this took a hiatus during my uni student days! Becoming pregnant with my first son was really the catalyst for me, returning to holistic health and becoming consciously chemical free. Like any new mum, I found the demands of a new baby exhausting so I turned to food as medicine and my key source of energy, and so begun the journey down the rabbit hole. Since a young age I have experienced a range of healing modalities including Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture, Herbal Medicine, Homeopathy, Naturopathy, Colour Therapy, Cranial/Sacral, NET, Osteopathy, Chiropractic care, Contact Care, CEASE therapy, and Medical Doctors with integrative and alternative approaches, including intravenous Vitamin C therapy when I was a teenager.

I'm a self taught wholefoods cook and holistic health lover. I love spending time creating in the kitchen, or learning new health info - check out my facebook and instagram pages for the latest.

I started the healthy hippy on the line to communicate the many ways we can stay healthy - naturally, to my friends and family and it's grown organically from there. You won't find a single thing here that my family and/or I do not do or use ourselves. I have found these to be the very best of the tips, tricks and tools we all need for healthy living.

This. Is. VITALITY!

Giving back

We're conscious of how we all need to do our bit to help out with the environment, to make sure there is a beautiful planet for our children, their children, and their children's children. With every purchase we donate, currently to Greenpeace, an organisation that is very dear to my heart, I've been a constant supporter since signing up on the streets of Dunedin as a student at 19 years old.
