Just sipping on my ionised water...

Just sitting here sipping on hot ionised water...as you do!

As I sit here typing this, I'm listening to the sound of my mountain spring water bubbling away, looking out the window at the overgrown pines swaying about in what seems like almost a grey winters day, in early January, wondering what on earth has happened to summer...

My older kids have excitedly gone off to high tea with their Dad at the majestic Chateau Tongariro, all dressed in their outpost shirts which is pretty much our family uniform whenever we spend time here. It's a stark contrast to the days spent on the slip n slide and having water bomb fights a few days ago in the sweltering summer sun.

The silly season has concluded, and I, much like everyone else, am feeling a bit worse for wear for festively indulging. Even though it was fun and I don't for one moment regret feasting on all sorts until my hearts content, I'm glad to be giving my body some better nourishment, for now at least!I am building up to another liver and gallbladder flush next week but am preparing some ionised water to sip on throughout the day as it is a fantastic cleanser and has antioxidant effects. You can either make it yourself by boiling water for 15 minutes, then storing in a flash and sipping on it throughout the day, or you can purchase a water ioniser.

Sipping on hot ionised water has a profound cleansing effect on all the tissues of the body. It helps to reduce overall toxicity, improves circulatory functions and balances bile. When you boil your water for 15-20 minutes it becomes thinner (it's molecule clusters are reduced from the normal number of about 10,000 to one or two clusters), and it is charged and saturated with negative oxygen ions (hydroxide (OH-). When you take frequent sips of this water throughout the day, it begins to systemically cleanse the tissues of the body and help rid them of certain positively charged ions, which can be associated with harmful acids and toxins.

Most toxins and waste materials carry a positive charge and, as such, tend to attach themselves to the body, which is negatively charged overall. As the negative oxygen ions enter the body with the ingested water, they are attracted to the positively charged toxic material. This neutralises waste and toxins, turning them into fluid matter that the body can remove easily. For the first couple of days or even weeks of cleansing your body tissues in this way, your tongue may take on a white or yellow coating, an indication that the body is clearing out a lot of toxic waste. If you have excessive body weight, this method can help you shed many pounds of body waste in a short period of time, without the side effects that normally accompany sudden weight loss.

How do I do it? Boil water for 15-20 and pour it into a thermos. Stainless steel thermoses are fine. The thermos keeps the water hot and ionised throughout the day. Take one or two sips every half an hour all day long, and drink it as hot as you would sip tea. You may use this method anytime you do not feel well, have the need for decongesting, wish to keep the blood thin, or simply want to feel more energetic and clear – which is exactly why I'm doing this now just after the silly season! Some people do this for a set duration, like three or four weeks, and others do it on an ongoing basis.

The oxygen ions are generated through the bubbling effect of boiling water, similar to water falling on the ground in a waterfall or breaking against the seashore. In the thermos, the water will stay ionised for up to 12 hours or for as long it remains hot. This specially prepared water should not substitute for normal drinking water.It doesn't hydrate the cells like normal water does, this ionised water is used by the body for cleansing the tissues.

As with water in general, the quality of it counts, so make sure you're using a good source. I'm so fortunate to have access to fresh mountain spring water when I'm away from the city, and use fluoride and chemical filters on my water supply in the city.
